Strategy and Synergy[ | ]
Counter Strike is an incredibly versatile spell, dealing passable damage while granting a decent amount of Shield. The instant cast, fast projectiles, and the fact that you gain shield on cast instead of on hit make this one of the most beginner-friendly spells in the game.
Do not be afraid to cast this without aiming if you need the 50 Shield in a pinch. 50 Shield for 2 mana is not good efficiency, but the general sparsity of shield spells means that one often does not have better options. Mana is a readily renewable resource; health is not.
This is generally a very good spell, especially if going for a defensive build (Especially with Reva). Avoid only if you are building for a small deck centered around spamming a specific card synergy, such as a 
Switchbait or a 
Viruspell deck.
