Description[ | ]
Upon casting, a shot appears on the player's next tile before starting to travel diagonally downwards (in contrast to Diag Beam which initially travels upwards). It can bounce off of walls and Broken tiles, causing its trajectory to change as well as pierce through targets. Whenever it hits the target, it deals 40 damage while also inflicting 1 Frost.
Strategy and Synergy[ | ]
This spell will always bounce off the rightmost wall at least twice, and therefore theoretically can hit a single enemy up to 4 to 5 times, equating to lots of Frost being applied. If the player can manage to hit enemies multiple times with this spell, it is effectively a superior Ice Needle, triggering the effects of Frost artifacts while also dealing lots of damage. It also covers a wider area overall (half of the field instead of just a single lane). However, due to the difficulty of utilizing this spell in the most effective manner, some players may be deterred away from picking it up and would instead prefer some other more easy-to-use sources of Frost application. Some practice may be needed to make good use of Ice Hockey.
One thing that the player should keep in mind is that the initial casting position is very important. Since the shots will always travel diagonally, it will always adhere to one-half of the field in a checkerboard pattern. This leads to some patterns the player can get used to when trying to utilize diagonal shots, such as the shot will never hit the location of the player's aim marker upon casting and every other tile in that checkerboard pattern. Knowing this pattern, the player might try to aim at a position one tile vertically or horizontally away from the enemy's current position instead.
